This Privacy Policy explains how Nawart ("Nawart", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our restaurant discovery and reservation service at nawart-eg.com (and nawart.pages.dev) (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
Who we are
Nawart is a restaurant discovery and reservation platform for Egypt, founded by Yahia Foraida. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@nawart-eg.com.
Information we collect
- Account information — if you sign in with Google, our authentication provider (Supabase) receives your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to create your account.
- Profile you provide — your first and last name, mobile number, optional gender, and an optional social media link.
- Your saved guests ("your usual crew") — names and optional contact/social details you choose to add for people you book with.
- Reservation details — the restaurant, date, time, party size, occasion, and any note you add when you make a booking request.
- Technical data — basic, standard information your browser sends and that our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes to serve and secure the site.
Where your information is stored
Your profile, saved guests, and reservations are stored locally on your own device (in your browser's storage). Account sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth. We do not currently keep your reservations or guest list on our own servers.
How we use your information
- To let you sign in and keep your profile and bookings together.
- To prepare a reservation request and, with your action, send it to the restaurant you choose through your selected channel (WhatsApp, Instagram, OpenTable, or SevenRooms).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Sharing your information
We share information only as needed to provide the Service:
- Restaurants — when you send a booking request, the details you entered (name, date, time, party size, occasion, note, and the contact you provide) are shared with that restaurant so it can handle your reservation.
- Service providers — Google (sign-in), Supabase (authentication), and Cloudflare (hosting).
- Booking channels — WhatsApp, Instagram, OpenTable, and SevenRooms, when you choose to book through them. Their own privacy policies apply.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your profile, guests, and reservations on your device, and our authentication provider uses cookies/tokens to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your profile and guests at any time in the app.
- Because your bookings and guests live on your device, clearing your browser storage removes them.
- To access or delete account data held by our sign-in provider, email hello@nawart-eg.com and we will action your request.
Children
The Service is intended for adults making restaurant reservations and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Nawart evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
